The Schools' Green Audit programme is an annual environmental audit programme organised by the Singapore Environmental Council. Schools are required to audit their school and submit information such as usage of electricity, amount of waste generated, green activities and outreach programmes to create awareness in the community. The programme aims to promote environmental awareness and encourage continuous improvement.
Based on the results, schools can qualify for one of four award levels, the entry level Palm Award, intermediate level Hibiscus and Orchid Award, or the top level Lotus Award. A sustained achievement award is given to schools who have received the Lotus Award for three consecutive times.
